Hither and Tither
if someone were to have kept an eye in this site over the past few months, they might have noticed its appearance vacillating wildly, slipping from a pink and purple galaxy, to a set of dark text boxes, to lush green fields, and finally to a more muted verdure. you see, i'm quite torn on exactly how i'd like to present this site to the world, a world which, at its most populous will never exceed a handful of people, and yet, i sit and wonder.
i'm split between the utter simplicity of sites like conjunctions and the white review and the sumptuousness of the freedom offered by neocities. the latter, i think, is ultimately out of place because this is a site that exists as a repository of text-walls which i'm not sure anyone's particularly interested in reading. regardless, i'm playing toys with the css, so to speak. i love tinkering about, and frankly, i'm perfectly aware that i don't need to tinker upon this website alone, but what i eventually do publish is a mere fraction of the hijinks i get up to.
at the end of the day, i want nothing more than a site that can be read by the itinerant in a moment of ennui. i'm not exactly writing up a storm, i'm thinking, i'm turning books and films around on my tongue, drawing lines between them, and in the midst, creating a self that i can refer to in the moments when it slips away, a circumstance i find myself in far too often. look at that last sentence, all commas, and no sense. you couldn't even call it a sentence.
so, here i am, once again, wondering if i'll ever settle on something, i keep learning neat little css tricks, html acrobatics, and applying them hither and tither. i wonder if i'll stop, now that i've written about it, settle into these neat little tabbed boxes, set against a william morris wallpaper. well, whatever i do, i know one thing, that little gecko in the corner is going to stick around. it's watching over my words, and scuttling over to hide my typos.
until the next unannounced overhaul.
